Edelweiss and its owner Monika were both born of Austrian heritage. The daughter of an Austrian ski instructor who moved to the Reno/Tahoe area, Monika was raised on a strict diet of goulash and moguls. Her dream was to share her love of food and skiing with others and thus was Edelweiss Pub born.

SPARKS WATER BAR
The story of the Wet Woody began in the late 1980s, when restaurateur Tom Turner was preparing to open Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay. Inspired by Lake Tahoe’s legendary wooden Gar Wood boats, Turner and friends experimented with different spirits until they created the now-famous rum cocktail.
Turner went on to open Riva Grill, Caliente, and Bar of America, building a collection of iconic Tahoe restaurants. In 2021, he brought that same spirit to Sparks with the opening of Water Bar at Sparks Marina, which has since become a cornerstone for locals and visitors alike.
GAMBI’S
Gambi’s Restaurant brings a unique blend of Italian-American cuisine, craft cocktails, and pirate-inspired atmosphere to Sparks. Originally opened in 2021 in Somersett, Gambi’s quickly became known for its hearty Italian dishes, nautical décor, and fun, adventurous dining experience. Wheatberry Baking Company’s owner Stephanie grew up in Sparks NV. After 16 years of practicing her craft while moving around the United States, Stephanie moved back to Northern Nevada and has been working to bring her love of baking to her community. Stephanie’s passion for baking started when she was a child, growing up in a home where going out to eat was a rarity and nearly every meal was prepared from a recipe out of the most recent Bon Appetit Magazine. It is safe to say there were no Little Debbie’s waiting in the cabinet when she came home from school.
